Russian airlines ask for over 60 permits for flights to China
MOSCOW, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- Russian airlines have requested over 60 permits for flights to China, including flights to the city of Wuhan, as seen by PRIME on Wednesday in the materials of a meeting of an interdepartmental commission on granting airlines access to flights published by the Federal Air Transport Agency.
The majority of permits was requested by Red Wings, which also asked for permits for flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Zhukovsky to Wuhan. The other airlines on the list were Ural Airlines, IrAero, Azur Air, Royal Flight, and iFly.
The commission will meet and discuss the requests on Friday.
Russia restricted flights to and from China from February 1. Now only national flagship carrier Aeroflot and four Chinese airlines are allowed to carry out scheduled flights between Russia and China and only from the F terminal of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport. All charter flights of Russian airlines were banned from February 14.
